A Dirty Peace

Once again, Mark Durkan MP gets it right.
“It is a Dirty Peace following a Dirty War”
It is a shame that Mark stood down as SDLP a few years back.
Yes it all makes sense…he has a family man and never at ease at both Stormont and Westminster. But he is a voice we hear too rarely.

  1. Yet we all knew that. The only people that seem truly surprised by current events are the British general public. And that is the problem of their politicians and media who lied to them about the nature of the peace process. The British are the ones who can’t face the truth, not the Irish. We know the deal that was done and accept it. The British don’t want to know because deep down the most vocal of them they can’t accept it.

Reblogged this on Pippakins Hardly Relevant File (Dustbin to you) and commented:
Yes it was a dirty peace it might have been a tad cleaner if it had been dealt with by John Major which is odd considering he’s a Tory but we all got stuck with Tony Blair and while he was and is better than Gerry Adams frankly when it comes to lying there’s not a lot in it. Creative Ambiguity served its purpose and still does. A dirty peace is better than the filthy little gang war it replaced.

It seems SF were not the only ones doing secret side deals with the British Government.

    Doctor Feeney has his say.

  6. I never did want the restoration of Stormont – I would rather have kept the British on the hook. Cannot see why nationalists want it.
